How much shadow-free roof space is required for a solar installation?

A standard modern high-efficiency solar panel (550W to 600W) measures approximately 2.2 to 2.5 square meters. To safely install a typical 5kW residential system (which requires 9 to 10 panels) along with the necessary Galvanized Iron (GI) mounting structure and maintenance pathways, a minimum of 25 to 30 square meters (approx. 270 to 320 square feet) of completely shadow-free roof space is required.

How is the Return on Investment (ROI) calculated?

Return on Investment (ROI) is calculated based on the total capital cost of the system divided by the annual savings on utility bills. Based on current electricity tariffs in Pakistan and average solar generation capacity (approx. 4 units per kW per day), a standard residential system recovers its initial cost in 3 to 4.5 years. The system has an expected operational lifespan of 25 years.

Does the company process the Net Metering application?

Yes. B Tech Solar manages the complete Net Metering process according to NEPRA guidelines. This includes conducting the technical feasibility study, submitting the application to the respective DISCO (e.g., IESCO), processing the demand notice, and coordinating the final installation and testing of the bi-directional meter.

What is the technical difference between Hybrid and On-Grid systems?

An On-Grid system synchronizes directly with the utility grid and has no battery storage. It features "anti-islanding protection," meaning it automatically shuts down during a grid power outage to prevent back-feeding electricity. A Hybrid system includes a battery bank and a hybrid inverter, which allows it to isolate from the grid during an outage to provide backup power, while still retaining the ability to export excess energy when the grid is active.
